Thumbs down

Hey everyone,

Ever since I bought my used '04 E60 I noticed a weird noise coming from the steering wheel when I turn it. It sounds like a compressor struggling to pull a load...

I also noticed that the steering wheel on my car turns a lot harder (needs a lot more effort) than the '07 E60s I test drove.

Does anyone have any clue on what this could be? Thanks!

I've mentioned (in one of the 12 similar threads) that I have the same problem. The good news is that I have an appointment for service tomorrow morning.

Falterkammer, please let me know what you find out.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

I don't think I have active steering.

Maybe I should change out the power steering fluid?

I had similar problem with my MDX- was Steering transmission per ACURA, fixed by acura service.
