All pretty decent except for the last ET. Except for the 13.10, the GT500's results are not that far from the extant US M5 results. viz.:

BMW M5 MT 3/06 4.80 12.90 114.90
Presumably the M3 will be slower than the M5. But, if not, then I would consider one somewhat seriously--SMG and all. But, if the US M3 launch control is diluted like that of the M5, then I won't consider the car. I refuse to reward BMW for retarded, IMO, thinking.

I'd hate to see you leave the family, especially for a Merc. Get an F10 with ZSG tranny and, with your modding talents, then have it blown. So, in your retirement years, you could go prowling for some unsuspecting AMG Mercs. Imagine the terror you could bestow on these bastards???

My best bet for staying in the fold looks like the 550i/M3 combo. I hope BMW doesn't let us down by diluting its SMG launch control. I'd be OK with the SMG provided that there isn't a new tranny in the works and that the M3 launch control is the real deal. I don't want another manual--at least for a while. Of course, I'd have to have a manual with a new Z06.
I don't do "super modding" on cars any more (i.e., turbos/superchargers especially). I blew the apex seals on an after-market turboed 1987 RX-7 once, and one such experience is enough for me. And, I had many emissions problems with one of my three modded RX-7's--specifically the one that blew. Super modding is just not worth the after-market pains, including warranty and emission issues to me. These days I like cars to be the way I want them to be, for the most part, out of the box.
But, I also like the idea of terrorizing the unexpecting. I think my Z06 is something of a surprise the way it is. So, with, say, a 3.73, an intake, and a dyno tune, I think I could do some terrorizing, or at least holding my on, with the old 02. That's about as far as I care to go with modding these days--with a few additional possibilities like throttle bodies, modified MAFs, etc., also being acceptable.
