New Windshield
I don't have the head's-up display, so I don't need that one, but I just don't see how there can be such a price discrepancy between the Safelite and BMW windshields.
(I know, that BMW logo is worth $$$)

Just had my windshield replaced on my M...$635, OEM glass. Glass co. told me there is no aftermarket supplier for BMW...at least not for my M3. $635 installed. had my 5 done last year (OEM glass) , cost $1,200, no hud. FWIW, always go OEM, piece of mind alone!

Is SC the only state that considers a windshield a safety concern? Our insurance companies are required to replace them if they are cracked and we dont even have to pay the deductible. And your insurance is not allowed to go up. Because it is a "Safety Issue" it is considered completely differently.
I guess I thought that was a pretty prevalent thing in most states, but I have not heard anyone bring it up on this thread.
I actually have a couple chips in my old e39 528i that I am selling, and before I sell it I am going to get it fixed I will find out if the full blown BMW windshield from the dealer is covered under this deal. I assume it is since it is a law.

In California its considered a comprehensive claim. Your deductible will apply but it will not go against your rates. They will most likely only pay for an aftermarket windshield which is less then most peoples deductibles in the first place.

I'm insured with Geico, and for the state of Nevada they don't cover winshield replacement even under the deductible....

It is a comprehensive claim, but still count as claim filed. I totaled my truck for work in February and they paid that off. Right now I don't want another claim against me, I don't want to be canceled due to their "underwritten criteria" for too many claims.
