I don't know how the rear of our cars are setup, but I know on my other car, it has a panhard bar in the rear.. This allows for the rear end to be off-center, especially with tire changes.. Alignment definitely would be the first thing I'd try.. Ask specifically for them to center the rear..

I had my new wheels and tires put on today. 166's with M6 offset on Pilot sport a/s tires. Looks and rides great. The problem is that the passenger rear tire is freaking rubbing when I hit a bump. How can ONE side rub and not the other. I researched all of this for a while and I think this is a set up that many are using. 245/35 front and 275/30 19 rear. Car is a 2007 530i sport.
Any suggestions?
I have no clue what to do from here.
Thanks.

If the offset is different on 1 wheel, it could explain this!

Ok, took the car to the dealership and had it aligned. It did help a bit but there is still some rubbing. My dealer said there is a little metal lip that is bent down on the passenger side that isn't like that on the drivers side. They suggested going to a body shop and having them look at it. But they checked and adjusted camber, damping, etc.
Body shop folks measure the wheels and tires and say everything is correct and in spec. They tell me the right (passenger) side is dipping more than the left and says go back to dealer and make sure that struts and springs are ok.
Dealership just called me back and said you have to be under the car looking straight up and there is a metal lip that is bent down on the passenger side that is not on the driver. They say it needs to be bent back into place. They also tell me they took a digi photo of it as well. You can only see it from under the car.
So, tomorrow morning I'm going back to the body shop to see what they can do about it.
BTW I got the wheels from Garry at Newport BMW.

Went to a different body shop today and they took care of the problem. Took them about 30 to handle that and touch up a couple of rock chips on the car. The lip was off and the manger said that it was small enough that QC from BMW probably wouldn't have seen it. Nothing had ever been done to the fender is was just off slightly. Now everything is in order and I'm relieved. One less thing to deal with.
I appreciate all the help from the forum on the wheel and tire choice and dealing with this incident. I trust you guys more than I ever will the dealer.
Here's some before and after pics. The before were taken with my iphone cause I forgot to take my camera with me to the tire joint. Next addition is a matte black grill.
