which is less than the stock et 20 for the 530. is it rubbing on the inside of the wheel or the outside?

Actually, it's just the passenger side. You can see the marks on the tires, there is nothing on the driver's side. There is no doubt that the noise is coming from the passenger side.

correct, ET 17 is the rear M6 offset. A lot of members here run M6 offsets on their 166's or add spacers 10-15mm spacers with M5 offsets and run 275/30/19 on the rear tires without rubbing, and with stock sport suspension as well. Perhaps you have a bad shock or suspension issue on that side...how many miles on the e60...
You honestly should not have to roll your fenders with the offset and tire size...

Can you confirm that the offsets are indeed correct (M6)?
You can check verify this from the back of the wheel.

I had my new wheels and tires put on today. 166's with M6 offset on Pilot sport a/s tires. Looks and rides great. The problem is that the passenger rear tire is freaking rubbing when I hit a bump. How can ONE side rub and not the other. I researched all of this for a while and I think this is a set up that many are using. 245/35 front and 275/30 19 rear. Car is a 2007 530i sport.
Any suggestions?
I have no clue what to do from here.
Thanks.

I have the same tires in the OEM size except 18's and one side rubs on the inner fender when turning and going over a bump at the same time. God damn annoying. I have BBS wheels and messed around with offsets with spacers. I think the Pilot A/S tires are just a bit taller than other model tires of the same "size".

Is it possible for something in the suspension to be misaligned on that side. The car is actually going in to service tomorrow for brakes so what should I have them look at? I want to be specific cause the folks at the dealership are sometimes not so bright.

18"s and rubbbing? wow...
I love the tires but if I get another set I am getting one size smaller in the fronts.

You should have absolutely ZERO rubbing with 275/30-19 and the M6 rear offset on the M166's. You should NOT have to roll your rear fenders.
It could be the problem is the A/S Section width is a bit wider than that of most 275/30-19's but I highly doubt it. There are guys running 285/30-19's with minimal rubbing and 285's are 1/2" wider than 275's.
I would guess you have a problem with the dampening on passenger side rear suspension. I would have the suspension checked out.
