Pennetta - With yours, did they have to replace the whole transmission or just the control modules?? Glad to hear yours is working well now.

If I try to start (not drive)the car with the drivers door open, it will not recognize that I have put it in N (from R or D) and therefore will not start - but when I close the door, turn the key to off then on, the car will start.
If I turn the car off in N the car will start with the door open.
I just found out this week if I try to start the car with the door open (if it was turned off in R or D) it will not start the first time but turning the key to off, then on, it will start.
I also experience the same as Rudy. Sometimes a little too quick for the computer when starting the car.

Haha wow realityman you've tried all sorts of combinations huh? I'm afraid one of these days if I try too many tricks on the car it'll just crash and wont start. Just like windows... the more odd Shiet you do to it the greater potential it'll crash.

Once again, I am the farthest thing from reality, man!
No software crashed or lock-ups.
Just a lot of interesting observations.
(Once I get past a year and a half with a car, I start getting bored and look for "new things").

Same problem here. The car wont start it happened to me only once (yesterday) Car stays on 1st gear and don't change to neutral. I love car, but I think it's time to get read off BMW
