My Ride: 525d M Sport in Carbon Black

I can confirm that my 525d M Sport is loosening up nicely, I'm approaching the 7k miles mark and see noticable increase in the mpg, on a mixed cycle I'm averaging 44mpg for a full tank.

I'll happily report back in a week or so with more accurate figures if needed, fyi a tank is giving me around 600miles + and dependant on how long my motorway runs are this can nudge 700miles.

Mine averaged about 37mpg for the first 6k miles. Now at 7.5k its a whisker under 41mpg, some of that difference could be attributable to the remap tho'.

That means I'm in front of you now in terms of mileage as I'm approaching 8k miles.

Would generally have to echo comments made by e60scotland, but as mine is a manual I'm getting a couple more to the gallon. Recently went down to the Le Mans 24 hr race - something like 1300-1400 miles retrurn and my 525d M Sport returned an average of 49.5 mpg at a steady relaxed 70 mph cruise all the way there & back.

Can't say I have noticed a marked improvement in terms of economy from brand new, mine has been excellent from day 1 (end of April 07) and continues to be excellent on fuel. It hasn't used a drop of oil either which again is a great sign of a 'gooden'!
