Been brousing around the site a bit so I wanted to say Hi to everyone, this is my 1st BMW and hoping for a good experience.
Couple questions if you dont mind: I bought an 07 530xi w 70k miles and was wondering what i should prepare to service. wasnt able to get any service records.
What wheels are you XI guys putting on? Im scared of what I can use since its awd and I like the staggered look.
Lastly I have a airbag light that just came on and it says something is wrong with the seat belt tensioner etc. I saw there was a recall for a similar issue on the 03-06 but nothing for 07. Any ideas?

as for the recall, I would call BMW USA. They will let you know based on your vin #. Thats what i did. or you can just go to a dealer and maybe they will tell you.

A local dealer should be able to print service and warranty records for your car - ask nice; some are sticklers because the record shows the previous owners information. Just tell them to black it out. Aside from service performed by BMW it will also report what recalls have been applied and which are outstanding.
As for wheels and tires, the xi is different. Search the forum for particulars. However, apart from offset that must be considered the overall rolling radius of the wheels/tire combination is important. Too great a differential will trigger alarms because the computers will think one set of wheels is rolling faster than the other. That is also true of RWD BMWs .
