Well...I am comparing my 550i to my 545i and it felt faster. I might not get a sub 5 second on the g-meter because: 1) I doubt if i could launch the car like a drag racer off the line 2) no place here to safely to a quarter mile or even 0-60 without getting caught.

I do have a g-meter and plan to go to new england dragway soon....just to see how i fare
Super. We will be eager to hear about your results. Yes, you probably will have trouble with the launch--i.e., Bokke always did. Check out his results on the link I posted. Good luck at the strip. I want to see a sub 13.3. Also, your wheels probably are too large, but the next time around I am going to run wheels no larger than would allow use of largest available size of drag radials (none available in 19's). I will buy an extra set of rears (18's presumably) so I can easily swap back and forth for trips.

more pics plus my guardian's monaco blue 550

nice one,
Don't you want to push the main light switch in so it doesn't catch your knee on exit?
(I also think it looks better - just my opinion)

congrats on the new ride - fine choice.

maybe you need to change your avatar too after blasting down the dragway... (ok - that's maybe pushing it a little )
Haha.....blasting down the quartermile in 15 seconds after a lousy launch....

Haha from the factory the original design wasnt ment for the light switch to be pushed in. Yes it works both ways and really doesnt matter but I beleive you are able to push it in is because from a safety design standpoint during a crash if you knee hits the knob it will pop in instead of staying out and making your knee cap take all the hit.

No, I assumed that you have at least 19's--apparently erroneously. As implied, drag radials, particularly BFG's, are available in size 18" for our cars--as I recall. If not, then I'll get 17" wheels the next time around--like grogan545. 17's provide a slightly larger amount of road torque than 18's or larger anyway.
