Just brought home my new Deep Sea Blue 535i - Sport, Premium, Comfort Access, NAV, L7, Ipod and Sat. I really want to post pictures but want to run it through the Zaino process first.

Have a few questions:

1. NAV - How do you make it so that the navigation menu is running each time you start the car?

2. NAV - Once I get into the nav screen with maps, it doesn't list the road that I am currently on?

3. Can I alternate the two windows so that the nav is on the left and everything else is on the right?

4. User memory - How do I set it up so that one key uses the memory 1 selection and the other key uses the memory 2 selection?

5. Headlights - if I set it to auto, it doesn't light up the angel eyes for normal daytime driving. If I set it to DRL, which lights are on? Also, if it is OFF of automation the adaptive headlights don't function, correct?

1. You cannot. However since you have the latest CIP version software, your screen should go back to the last screen you were at after self accepting the legal mumbo.

2. Use the arrow display. Its best to have that running in the assist window. If it is not then it also pops up the arrow display one mile prior to the next direction instruction.

3. Nope. Only Nav functions on the right

4. Cannot, but you can set the seat M1 differently with each key.

5. Don't have my LCI yet, but DRLs on the new cars light up both rings. Keep the switch on Auto and the lights will come on and off depending on outside lighting. Yes you need the switch in the position to have the Active Headlights work.

Thanks. So if it goes back to the map after I start it and then I go away from the may to do something how do I get the map back?

As far as the seats go, what I was trying to say was if I have my key on a keychain and set everything to M1 with that key in my pocket that should make that key the one that references M1. Alternatively, if i took my wifes key and set M2, the same would occur for all of the M2 settings, correct?

1. as for the map try holding the iDrive knob to the map (*right? *) for 3 seconds it should go back to where you left it last.

2. No. Lets see... how can I explain it? Each key is different. Essentially you have 4 memory slots. 2 for each key making 4.

So lets say with Key #1 you can set your preference and store it to M1 and your Sons setting with M2

Key two you can store your Wife's setting in M1 and your Daughter's with M2.

And as for memory goes... each time you shut down, the car remembers the last settings and attaches it with the key. so say you drove it and left the radio on 99.9 and Volume at Medium, steering wheel at 75% position and your seat setting at M1 or even if you moved it... and shut down the car, that setting is saved and tagged onto the key.

Now your daughter drives the car and leave the radio at 105.5, steering at lowest setting, volume at 100% blaring loud....

the next time you get in, the car will revert back to exactly how you left off last time... with radio at 99.9, volume at medium, and steering at 75% height and mirrors and all that... but when you shut down you muted the radio...

and then your wife wants to drive it and uses key #2 when she gets in she'll be scared out of her seat because your daughter left the radio at max volume... so then your wife will have to turn the radio down and hold the M1 button to get the seat and mirrors to her settings...

now when your son goes to drive the car with your key he'll get a muted radio and your seat setting... he'll have to adjust it back to his setting... but when he leaves it'll save his setting in the key so when you get in it'll still be his setting or when key#2 is use it'll be your wife's setting, the last setting the car was shut down with.

Hehe get it? I hope that clears it up.
