Are you sure it's not like in Germany?

We don't have a law that says it's not allowed, but if you have an accident while you were watching your insurance is not covering your damage, just the damage on the other car.

Not legal in California either, to play TV or a movie where it is visible from the driver's seat...but not illegal to look at NAV screen. Cell phones need to be illegal over here...its getting out of hand. I'm wondering why BMW put the DVD drive in the dash if the only thing that can be played on it is the map disc?

Lexus still does not allow users to enter a NAV destination while the car is moving. You need to pull over on the highway, which is awfully more dangerous than looking at the screen.
