My '05 545 is due to arrive in about a week (Ti Silver/Black, Sport, Logic7, Comfort Seats, Cold Weather, Rear Shade, Sat Prep, Steptronic). It's almost exactly what I want, but it's missing Navigation. (Didn't order it, took what was already coming to dealer)

I hate to rehash this issue, but I still have some questions about the Nav retrofit:

1. Does the available Nav retrofit work for '05 models (US)?

2. If so, does it require "option 6UA", or was this only an '04 issue?

3. Does the max price of $1,800 apply to '05 models as well?

Thanks. Can't wait for this baby to arrive, with or without Nav.

According to SI B 84 10 04 dated June 2004, the only requirement is if you have option 6UA, CCC pre-wiring. The bulletin does not specify a model year. Give your parts guy at BMW your VIN number and he can tell you if you have that option. It will not necessarily appear on your window sticker. Until May 31, 2005, BMW will pick up any cost over the option price of $1800 for parts and labor. Don't know what the price will be after that, but it will be the owner's responsibility.
