NAV frustrations

that's funny a link from wikipedia!! lol a community based encyclopedia which anyone can edit, thanks for the research.
and please don't fool yourself to think that the Xerox wimp GUI has a huge influence on how OS X or windows looks. they might have come up with the basis of it, but NextStep & the original Mac OS were a huge improvement over the wimp GUI.
P.S. I never argued that Xerox didn't invent WIMP GUI but alot of today's desktops tend to follow the Human interface Guidelines. Key word being tend because we all know microslut can't even copy ish right

The navigation systen in car is a tool to help You find the way. Putting in alphabetical order...stupid!
If You allready know where You are going (hotel restaurant), why don't You get the address from Your home, when departure and the enter it to the system?
It is absolutely right way to put those in nearest from you, order. Then it helps You on the way and try to find where to stay or eat. Nor to say Your tank is empty...
I definitely hope BMW stays this in present mode.
Ok, if there is many somewhere, where You can preset in which ordr you want those.
But again: driving the car is the main thing, not playing computers. These aids should keep simple to use.

Just and anektode: yesterday, I was trying to find a local museum (Winterthur estate, one of the biggest in the area) but gave up after ~ 10 min (I searched in every category the NAV would give me). Then, after I got there, I displayed museums on the map and it displayed a museum right where I was. But I still can't find it in IDrive....
After we got home, I did the experiment and searched for it in my wife's Subaru NAV. I had a stopwatch and it took me a whole 32s to find it....I'll try to look for it again in my car today, it drives me nuts that I can't find it.

Try to enter tha adress of the museum manually, then search for museums at destination and look what the closest one is called.
