ah! now i remember what the problem was with downloading the demos. I cant test them till i am actually IN poland !! Cause in holland i will only get a blank screen.

so its not very handy, cause i actually want to USE it when i am driving in poland and not testing a demo. very fustrating

I'll let u know when i have my computer or PDA hooked to the idrive. i plan to use the PC for email. i will fit a laptop permanently to the car, tht will supply EMAIL, GPS for Poland to the idrive screen.

Videos will come from a MVISTO hard drive player.

I hope it works out with the nav and that you will find your destination. This is just my curiosity, what is the speed limit on the motorway in Poland ?
speed limit in poland highways is also 120 or 130km\h. difference is that u can bribe the police . And unless they call a battalion of police cars to block the road they cant catch u anyway in their ladas

PoleApart,

I travel to Poland every July for 10 -14 days. This year in September. Stay on farm south east of Kostrzyn (Wlkp).

Speed limit on motorways is 130 km/h. Foreigners have to pay cash on the spot. Max fine is about 150 Euro and you don't get any points. They're much more hesitant to take bribes from locals these days but foreigners can probably get away with it. I'd be careful with the hypothetical Police Ladas on the motorways. They use unmarked Mondeo and Vectra V6's with videoradar since several years now. Also watch out for unmarked Ford Focus sedans and Octavia II's with two blokes on board. One of the good things about Automapa is that you can download the locations of common police speed traps and all the GATSO locations. Very useful.

Anyway - hope you all enjoy it when you come over here - we have blistering hot weather now and I'm in the middle of the long and narrow peninsula at the very top of Poland looking over the sunrise on the Baltic getting ready to put my Argentina shirt on .

I don't know what you did with the Automapa demos but they work fine for me indoors without any GPS signal.
