Name this part LOL...Some sensor, can't locate it
Hi all,
Recently my E60 M57N 286BHP was over revving, slightly jerky gear changing (it's automatic), and lagging on responding to acceleration. A mechanic located the cable you can see in the picture, and said it had worn down and was not connected. He said if I recall correctly it was the engine temp. sensor. Once he rewired it the car responded much better to acceleration, however it's happening again. I can't get in touch with this guy, so I'm hoping you guys can say which cable it is, and where it's located as a friend of mine is up for checking it and repairing it this afternoon. I remember the guy who initially fixed it located it at the front of the engine, to the right if my memory servers me correctly.
Any help, ideas etc would really be appreciated !
All the best
