I hear you Iceman -- here's my problem with that. Under normal circumstances, I choose to follow at safe distances. When I say safe, I mean something more than what most people consider safe on the highway. Having said that, I'll get up close to people to send them a message that I want to get past them if they're sitting in the passing lane. (I know you know this, but for the benefit of others outside the US, people here don't pay any attention to traffic approaching from behind. If they're doing the speed limit or one mile-per-hour faster, they think they have a right to sit in the passing lane and drive all day there!)

So what's my point? I need total control of my distances. If I'm cruising at a speed that a car in front of me is doing, fine, I keep a safe distance. Usually, that means there's room for someone to jump in front of me. I'm not going to follow the guy too closely just to stop someone from getting in between us. If I anticipate that someone might jump in, I'll close the gap enough to make him reconsider his move. Once we're past him, I'll let the gap come back, etc.

It sounds like ACC would be a pain to use under these very common circumstances. Sure, on an uncrowded road, it might be nice. The other problem is I have a hard time finding anyone to follow -- everyone wants to follow me and usually they follow me too closely. If my V1 goes off, my brakes are generally much better than the guy hooked on to my rear so look out -- it's an accident waiting to happen.

Gee I wish people around here took driving a bit more seriously as they do in Germany...

I know what you mean, Rudy!
Sometimes it happens to me too, but oevr all I really like ACC and use it quite often.
As you said, traffic over here is different... But I would really like to have the possibility to switch the senso off and use CC only...

If they would let you switch it off, then I'd buy it in a heartbeat on the next car. That way, I'd have the best of both worlds. On when traffic allows it to work well, off when I need to control what's going on a little more.

Keep in mind Iceman that in Germany you probably get the best drivers in the world.

I know what you mean, but everyday when I drive I am getting mad at all those freaks that can't drive...
I know that they still drive better than the most drivers outside of Germany...

Looks like your ride is a candidate for a clear bra!

Glad you got your problem sorted out.

Good to see it's fixed... But what a cheap quality is it, that the paint just disappears?
I hope the paint on our cars stays a little longer...

the dealer told you the paint came off ? seems like they screwed this up before and replaced or painted the bolt for you .

Not that many cars about with that bolt I think. they didn't make fuss about it, just had it sprayed. Like they should do really.
