My trunk pops up too "aggressively"

My Ride: 2006 530 d M-sport e60
Take off the left side boot liner and the aduster spring is located there, be very carefull with the spring as it is very strong, I cut my hand pretty bad when trying to adjust the one on my silver grey e60.

You can see the adjuster (in the pic) near the top of the trunk. Left hand side only. Car is an 08 535i. If you don't have it then trunk is not adjustable.

A couple of guys who bought Seibon carbon fiber deck lids reported getting smacked in the face when they opened them. They only weigh 7-8 lbs. and the spring launches them up fast! HAHA!

I put mine on the lightest setting, it is better but I think I'm going to put some weight in the tool box or something to make it even better.
Mine is a 2004 so you should have it too.

The thing is... I've never seen that spring thing... I usually change the light bulb myself... but nothin was there...
