My warranty runs out at the end of November so I took the car in to have 3-4 minor repairs done.
After reading about AM radio reception remedies on this forum, I had them also update the software (not sure of the version).
Well the reception is a tad better and now on the FM stations it actually shows the name of the station and what song is playing.
But now my Idrive will go into whatever page I had up when I turned the car off (not a bad thing) and to top it off after I start the car
I dont need to push the "accept" for it to go to the other screen, I still get the "accept" screen but before I push the I- knob to "accept" it automatically goes to my last screen I had on before I turned the car off.
Now I don't mind this at all, but you all think I should have it looked at?
Oh, its a early build 04 525 with 24,000 miles.
Thanks

Nope, all is well. These new "features" come with the newer CIP versions. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks, do the dealers automatically update to the latest version? I was reading a few threads below about a class action suit and a free update of the software.
Should I assume this was done? Had the car in earlier this week for the work.

I'd assume they upgraded to the latest/greatest. I was just upgrade last week as well and they put me to CIP 27.2, which just came out. I don't know what CIP I was on prior to my first upgrade (2 months back) but I can tell you that the first upgrade (27.1) brought me RDS (radio station names), perspective view on the nav, and a host of other "goodies". My guess is you're on at least 27.1, probably 27.2. Call your SA and ask.
