I took the car back to the dealer's cuz I'm getting a bit too much vibration when
the car is stationary (at a light, etc) or when I put it in R to reverse.

The R vibrates more obviously than in D but it's a bit too rough to accept for a
car of this price range and caliber.

So far they haven't found anything. Maybe the vibration is payback for me
telling BMW Asia my dissatisfaction with the local importer's service.....?

Last time in the shop was for rountine maintenience and the 'noise issue' which
was the engine was running a bit high on the rpm's so it was a bit noisy.

Now this.... well, at least it isn't a major issue but...

Is anyone else having this kind of vibration issue or is it just my car?

Mine vibrates more than I think it should, but not so much that passengers notice. It seems worse in the morning or after work when the car is cold - once it's warmed up, I hardly notice it.

Mine vibrates a bit too much that passengers do notice and ask what's wrong with the car. Also, it wouldn't be a cold car issue for me cuz when I get into the car, the temperature is already at an average of 34 degrees Celsius!

Well, BMW hasn't called back so we'll see how that goes.

(car-less at the moment)

I wonder how the motor mounts are holding up?

Got the car back and they said they 'fixed it' but were vague as to what was fixed... hahaha

Driving it back into the city, man it feels great to drive my car again!! I love the torque (it's diesel
what else can I say? hehehe) and it handles really great. For a few days being car-less and taking
taxis, I forgot how good this car feels on the road.

OK, back to the issue at hand, I swear the vibration is still there. Or maybe I'm just losing it and
the car is supposed to do this -- I'm going to go get a test drive at BMW and see if that is the case
or not.

Oh, and looking at the papers, it shows they 'found one of the doors to be noise-prone', so they
did something.... But I swear I can hear people talking behind the car VERY CLEARLY as if the
window was open or something....

Bigmike,

I have a similar problem. The car vibrates or shakes at D or R at very low speed. When I stopp and start from a light I feel a vibrataion and then the car starts to move.

BTW, I start to feel a bit rougher in the steering wheel and the ride after I replaced 18in OEM wheels with 19inch M166. How about you?

Thanks.

Hmmm.. maybe that's the reason?

I've been noticing this problem only recently and it's been a month since I put on 166 19" tires and Eibach Pro. Wonder if that's causing it.....?

You're right, the steering wheel has become a bit more vibrant (?). If I hold the sides of the car and seat (as if I were a passenger about to crash), I can really feel it!! LOL
