my car wouldn't start this morning. any thoughts?

One thing to try if that happens is hold the start button for >10 secs... that should be the emergency shut off... "should be"

Since it was a manual transmission they simply put it in 6th gear and let the clutch go - thats all they could do to stop it.
I just went to his office to ask him what they had to do to fix it. BMW drained the car for electricity and also had to re-install programs to the cars computer.
My best guest is to disconnect the battery - this will so to say reboot the computer and might fix it - otherwise I can only suggest to let BMW handle it.
