I have a 2007 550i and the following things are not currently working. I checked every single fuse in the glove compartment and all potential fuses in the trunk (according to the fuse chart). Is it possible that when locating the fiber optic cable in my glove compartment I pulled out (dislodged) a connection in the back of the fuse box?
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
- Wipers
- Interior lamps (ambient, red, lighting still works correctly)
- Cruise control
- Exterior puddle lamps
- Trunk release (interior and on fob)
- Glove compartment lamp
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Wish I could somehow direct you to the right location, but that's definitely what it sounds like to me. I'd guess that you've disconnected some part of the wiring harness somewhere.

Check if the following is in the same section:
If not, it could simply be a battery problem. You should visit a local shop with access to the GT1

I'm going to double check my fuse map and see if they are all in the same region, as that's a simple way to try and pinpoint the issue.
The optical connector is back in place as the radio works.

there's a lot of modules behind the glove box, it's unlikely but possible you disconnected one of the other wire harnesses back there. check all connections back there, not just the fuse box. I'd recommend disconnecting the negative cable on the battery first just for the sake of your electronics.

Good news. This afternoon I disconnected the negative terminal, removed the fuse panel, and what do I see, a set of wires unplugged.
Plugged it in, put everything back together, and Bertilda the Bimmer is all good again
I'm still a little perplexed as to how it became unplugged. I wasn't yanking any wires or being forceful, but who knows, perhaps it was lose and I just give it that final nudge.
Thanks again!
