The only this that bugs me are the windows switches. I don't know how many times I try to lower the windows like 1/4 or 3/4 and the "auto lower" engages too easily. A lot of cars have a switch that you can really feel. Then, before you know it, the anti-trap feature still screws up after many software upgrades. The window switches can definitely be improved.

To a lesser extent, is the rain-sensing wipers, that weird pictogram on the stick that does not make a lot of intuitive sense, and even how the wipers don't seem to really react to the settings.

Minor things really, but they can be improved.

Is there a fix for this? Can i disable this DAMN feature! Its been over a year since i've had the car, and i still worry when doing it remotely "Will the alarm go off". This feature makes me FURIOUS!

In HK we don't have that problem too because the E60 here is Euro spec. For some reason, Europeans don't like the panic features while North American do. I used to live in Canada and my E46 have the alarm options which adds a chirp sound when you lock/unlock your doors once install. But for my E39 in HK, I found that I always forgot to lock my door so I ask my dealer do they have the alarm upgrades so a sound can be added like the American spec. E39. But they said they never heard of anything like that. <_<

But I too rarely use the panic button to find my car even in Canada where the parking lot is huge. I only use the feature once to scare away the kid playing street hockey beside my car

No question, it's gotta be the classic over-thought teutonic engineering that is the freakin' turn signal indicators. I mean, come on, what's wrong with the classic up for right turn, down for left turn, auto cancel that's been around for decades?

For me it is the amber mood lighting created by the passenger side air bag off warning light in the overhead panel.

Most annoying when driving alone.

That would be the cupholders.
I am having my mechanic modify an Ultimate Cupholder II for an E61 so I can try it as a solution.
If it works, then I buy the E61, if not, I keep driving my current car.
So I am holding up a $60,000 purchase over a cupholder! Everything else looks grand in comparison to the bad cupholders in a bad location. If I solve it I will post a picture because looking at how BMW doesn't want a cup anywhere near the I-drive, I don't think they will solve this on their own. (yes I have searched "cupholder" and there is not another answer yet).
The beeping seat belt is annoying but I understand the reason. Frankly I want my passengers to put on their seatbelts.

For me it's the warning message on the "I" drive every time I start the car. Come on! I'm already backed out of my garage and driveway before the thing goes off!

It would be nice if there was an "I agree and won't hold you liable" box you could check and opt out of having the lawyer screen appear.

Mine only comes on when I have my book bag in the passenger seat. I think that's the way it is supposed to work--i.e., it is supposed to come on when the air bag is turned off because a child too small/light to be hit by an air bag is detected in the passenger seat. Do you usually put something in the passenger seat? If not, then maybe the sensor is not working properly.
