Can anyone give a description of how this new search by name feature works and how well it works? From looking at the pictures it looks like you have to put in a category and then search. Is this correct? Can you search for places in a certain city? Finally, has anybody found it difficult to find stores and restaurants when searching by name? (i.e. store names like those with dashes have to be spelled certain ways)
The search feature will only search in the chosen section. Also it can search for partial entries as well so e.g. you can enter TACO and it will display anything with those letters in it. Searching in a particular city is also possible but provided you are in that city or its your destination. Its all driven by searching a fixed distance from your current location or set destination. Its still highly inferior compared to after market nav systems but its taken BMW seven years to introduce this feature to the iDrive based models.

Quick question about the V25 upgrade, do you need a seperate NAV OS upgrade to enjoy these features? Thanks!

I got v25 after they had my car for a week. It did fix the rough idle and other engine issues. The graphics are nice but I am not sure it is any faster. The Bluetooth takes one minute and 15 seconds to connect where it used it take 20-30 seconds! I also can not get into the service screen it is all grayed out.

I also had requested that they fix the wind noise on the sunroof. They compared it to another car and they were the same. I asked if they looked for a puma and they said there are not any. "BS I will email you the number right now and if that does not work you will replace the roof assembly. Just because one defective car is as loud as another defective car does not mean there is not a problem! You are the experts NOT ME and I can find this information faster and better then you (Thanks to this board) that is unacceptable.

I HATE MY DEALER!!!! This is not the 1st time of these types of issues. Time to find a new dealer further away.
