More 550 rough idle/ cold engine problems?
I had the same problem with my 545i which went on for months until ... a real savvy service manager in Scottsdale AZ asked me where I got my gas. I told him and he said that this was not a top tier gas company. Google for "top tier gas" to get the list of companies that have guaranteed to put the cleaners in their gas, he told me that the problem was because of crappy gas which created carbon buildup on the valves and heads. This freaked out the software of the engine trying to normalize the idle, that?s why you have the jerky situation at very low speed in forward and reverse. They gave the engine an enema with a solvent, told me to only buy gas from a top tier company (highest available octane is 91 in Arizona) and every third fill up put some carbon cleaner in the tank. I have done this and have not experienced the problem sinse. (6 months so far)

There is definitely a problem common to our MY. NY550i, have you brought this up with your SA? I hope it is solved today when I pick it up from Prestige today.
Im in NY myself, where is prestige? did u get a loaner? let me know if they figure it out
The three BMW approved Gas Stations that contain 0% Ethanol are: Shell, Chevron or BP. I have the same problem with my 07 550i, but it is a normal issue. I had tests done as well and everything came back positive. I have 5, 6, & 7 Series car's idle this way and it is nothing to worry about it.
