2) Or it is not just specific to cyl 6 but seems like it is because it is the one that keeps misfiring first.

I would get it out on the road and force the misfire numerous times to try and determine if it is indeed always and only a cyl 6 problem.
When I swap parts around (coil/plugs) the code stays with cyl 6.

Ok your problem seems to be the injector/seal, decoupling clip or 02 sensor. May I ask what brand injector/type you used? Also if you replaced all injectors did you try to use an old good injector on cyl 6? I am sure all did not go bad.

Make sure the clip on the injector is install correctly or installed at all and check seal. After check your 02 sensors pre-cat bank 2 it could very well give you a misfire. If your engine is running rough after this then check for a vacuum leak.

You should find your issue with the troubleshooting steps i gave and correcting what is found. I put them in this order due to the problem being only at 6 cyl. Let us know what you come up with.

I replaced all of the injectors with reman bmw units. They had all new o rings. I had to reseat the o2 sensors when I replaced the injectors and I reseated/swapped all of the coils when I swapped the plugs around. As for the o2, I can start, idle, drive the car and even rev it to redline in neutral and it is fine. The misfire only seems to kick in if I redline it under load at the top of 2nd or 3rd gear.

Ok. Seems you have done quite a bit to figure this issue out. What i listed should be the only things that give you a misfire. Have you tried swapping injectors 5 and 6. I don't know if you did the injectors yourself to know how to program them but I would give that a try. Maybe the 6 is a bad reman. It doesn't make since for it to start in 2nd and 3rd if something is actually wrong. It would happen all the time. You can't have a mosfet issue (wrong model for that). Have you done a test on you O2's. I can't see anything else giving you the issue other than a DME software problem.

How many times have you had this misfire on 6?

Pretty much every day. I can induce the error by mashing the gas. I ordered a set of new coils and plugs, so will update after they are replaced.

No. Was very odd that I could move coils around and the misfire stayed with cyl 6. Picked up a set of coils from eBay for $50 so they were cheap enough.
