I am going to replace the driver side mirror with the European wide angle one and keeping the same mirror frame.

Heezy545i,
I wud appreciate if you cud clarify about ACS mirrors:
Do you mean that it is possible to get ACS mirror with and without light? Are you sure about it? So far I have seen them only w/o lights.

I haven't looked into it recently, but I remember reading that the ACS mirrors available for the e60 came equipped with a light.

Umm, how about the Z4 mirrors....if those fit, they would add to the car IMO.

Well, the ACS mirror has no light that you guys were talking about. Pretty disappointed though...

That's no problem. It's just the glass.

Here is the news about ACS mirrors -

Reply from official ACS Rep BMW garage in Luxembourg : No folding, No dimming, No ground lighting....
Possibly functions related to the glass movements (Memory), not sure about tiliting down in reverse......

Reply from BMW garage acrosss the border in Germany (they are not authorised dealers of ACS and apparently just tried to clarify it with ACS in K?ln) :
JUST no folding, everything else cud be supported....

Choose whatever you like !.....

I read in one interview from BMW //M people that the new m5 mirros have specifically been made not to work in other E60's. They will fit, but the computer will not make them work, and will keep giving you a warning on them

The same confirmed by BMW Munich. They want to restrict all the M5 parts at least for 2 years...
