Micro Filter needs changing
I removed the filters, placed them in the washing machine at 40 degrees cycle, then sprayed the two filters with colone (yes, my eau d'toilet) - Every time I drop a girl home she askes me to come inside with her and we shag. Works a charm.
I reset the idrive and I get 40,000 from the cleaned filters - the car can recognise the status of the filters.

I got mine from ebay and no weird smell. Installed in ~10min for both, so easy! I am digging the idea of putting scented oils in there!
BTW, how are you guys resetting the iDrive? Mine is still warning me that it needs replacement.

Although this is for a brake fluid change, the first step is to remove the cabin filter

Seems a bit complicated, but I do have a slight moldy odor as well. Will have to try it out sometime, if I get the guts LOL Thanks!

The OEM filters are pretty expensive, but the work takes only about 30 minutes, including the iDrive reset.
The AC system needs a full clean up every 3 to 4 years.
