I Got a message on the E60 computer stating that the Microfilter needs to be changed? BMW quoted this labor for $217. Is it hard to change it? Should i just do it myself?

I ordered the charcoal filters for like $30-$40 and did the work myself. Search Button

My stealership wanted about $175 to do the job.

20 mins.? Did you take a 15 mins break in between? It was less than 5 mins for me, that included opening the plastic wrap on the new filters. Also, my dealer wanted $190 for the service. What a ripoff?

Edit: Search eBay for the filters. Some can be had for $20+, I went with a local seller for a higher price.

I was a virgin when I did this. I also vacuumed out the filter area, it was kinda dirty.

5 minutes here also...didn't have to vacuum anything since it looked spotless.

$217? Highway robbery! Don't forget to reset the service counter when you change the filter.
