Today I tried to buy a set to replace my horrible run flats and the guy at Discount Tire said they discontinued the size for the rear...Anyone else heard this?

I am disappointed as I was exited about all the good reviews of this tire that I have read.

Any feedback on the regular Pilot Sports?

Thanks

Hmmm, when I tried to order mine from the main stealer they couldn't get any. But I bought them without trouble from a reputable online supplier - they did have them in stock...

The tyre is still listed on the UK Michelin site...

Good alternatives are the Continental Sport Contact 2's (as used on M5) and Goodyear F1 (Great in the wet too).

I just checked and that size is available on tirerack. If you prefer buying local, try calling some other shops.

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sports A/S on my 325i after using the Contacs OEM. They are so much quieter, and I have gotten almost 35k miles out of them so far. Probably have another 5K before replacement. They track better and look great. Got then at NTB in Houston. Used the Tire Rack quote online to get a better price out of NTB.

Talk to Kyle at Tirerack - they have one coded for Mercedes OEM Pilot Sport (ps2) - I just had them delivered, only difference was they had a little MO emblem on the tire next to the name.....replaced due to road noise with the stock dunlop runflats. Much much more quiet now. Tirerack does not know any details as to why they seem to be discontinued. hope this helps

I cannot locate 285-30-19 PS2 either because their on back order, and it caused me to have to get Bridgestones

Dear TBone:

I know for a fact that Mr. Mike Rainwater who is the Store Manager at Kauffman Tire Company in Peachtree City, GA and can be reached at Phone 770.631-1444 or their FAX 770.631.2310, did have two brand new Michelin PS 2's 275-30-19 last Tuesday 6-13-06 & 17:00hrs., because the PS2's were ordered for me by Mike from their Michelin Warehouse, and then I saw them when it arrived UPS, and decided I needed a larger rear tire.

Unless they sold them both, or already have sent them back, (which I don't think they have as of Friday 6-16-06), and they should still have it in the back room there at Kauffman Tire Store in Peachtree City, and should give you a good price on it. because your from the BMW e60 online forum, and I sent you to them. (Before you buy let me know the price their charging you, and I will then tell you what they were going to charge me...us e60 BMW forum members, have all got to stick together, because as you know, theres salesmen out there that will try their best to stick it to us $$$$ whenever they can!)

If Mike is not there next week, then talk with: "Amanda" and be sure to tell her who you are, what you looking for, and from the BMW e60 forum, and that I sent you to Mike or her for these two new 275/30/19 tires you need.

I hope this helps you!

Sincerely,

R. Eddie Presley
