I have matte black inserts but the outside of the grill is paint matched. I love it. The chrome grill looks too plastic

I got back to the office parking lot and I looked at my front end and just about decided to swap back the original grill this weekend. Anyone else ever feel this way?
+1! OEM all the way.

Never liked to matte grills, so teen stuff.

It's one of those things where if the car came with black grilles, chrome would be the upgrade of the day. It's all relative. If you are like me and feel like a car that you have kept for over 6 moths is an antique, you have been on many different car forums and at some point you begin to laugh at what people kill to replace. I have only seen one combo that made me like the matte black grilles, and it was on a dark gray 650i. But as another poster already made mention of; this car also had shadow-line, and blacked out side vent grilles, might be the secret. I personally adore the grilles (from 06 or 07) that have a chrome face to the horizontal slats, looks more complete than the previous rendition. Can you imagine how fun it must be to sit around and design this stuff all day?

I do not like black grills either. Looks like all the chrome has peeled off or it was never chrome plated. The kidney grills are part of the BMW heritage. Why hide or mar it ?

Im a fan of gloss black and matte black i dont think its hiding heritage because the grill it self is still there.

It's funny you bring this up Corey. I was planning on buying black grills and a black RPI scoop this weekend. I have been going back and forth on whether to get Matte Black or the OEM gloss black. I am leaning toward the OEM in hopes that it will match better with the M-tech kit on my titanium silver.

How did you make out with the install of your M-Tech kit?
