No, they weren't. You're looking at the wrong thing.. Sales YTD were down 9.8% compared to Q1 2008, but sales for March 09 compared to March 08 were UP 9.9%.

What I find interesting about the topic of brand loyalty is that the Ford F-series has over a 90% rebuy rate. The highest in the industry. Chevy is slightly behind. In the car market, Porsche is the tops, but still almost 20 pips below that of the pickups. Having owned several of each over a 25 year span, the most consistent in quality has always been a toss up between BMW and Porsche, with the nod to the BMW.
