Hi All,

I have just put a deposit down on an 05 530i Sport witht he M54 231bhp engine.

Now when researching I did not realise there was a new engine. So does anyone have the 0-60 specs and the official fuel figures as well as there own experiences.

First off all welcome to the forum.
I had the e69 with the 231 hp engine and I liked it a lot. Now thou, I have the new engine in the E60. If feels much smoother with the new engine. I tested the E60 with the 231 hp and I felt it was a little slow, something that I don't feel with the new E60. Check this link out: http://www.e60.net/information/options/engines/.

Thanks for the welcome it's funny joining a new forum And thanks for pointing us to the specs. From what I have read the new engine is great, and I would have loved the new engine but none in my budget seems the fuel economy is similar, I had a sudden thought that it was going to be much worse. But on paper it still seems better than my current VW 4 Motion so that should be cool. Can't wait to get it next week going to be a long week

I am quite happy with what I am getting it's a used car so I got a good price on it, if I was buying brand new then of course I'd be wanting the latest.
