What is power coating?
What the paint shop will do was to paint it first black and then paint silver over it - that gives a shiny grayish touch. And exactly that is worrying me - i think it will look like if there is brake dust on the wheels the whole time...

Check out BMW#6's gallery. He has a titanium silver E60 m-sport with M172 rims with the "dark shiney look". Should give you a feel for what it could look like -- can't remember seeing a AW E60 on M166s with that set-up.

I have 166's being powder coated basically the same color as BMW#6's 172's. I should have them later today or tomorrow and will post pics. Not sure if any members have 166's in this gunmetal color, I have seen 166's done in black and matte black but not this color.
I'm looking forward to seeing that. Do you think it will have a similar finish to the E39 M5 wheels. Remember that shadow chrome finish? That was hot.

Here is a link to the color chart PDF brochure, Tiger Coatings Series 38 Super Durable. The color I chose is on page 8 of the PDF brochure, Argento 314 Metallic . The sample doesn't really do it justice but gives you somewhat of an idea what the color looks like.
