My Ride: 2009 535xi Wagon
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
All was well a few weeks ago. The car sat for about a week and suddenly the I-Drive screen is black. I have tried a reset along with disconnecting the battery. Through troubleshooting I have found that the radio is working along with the mute button, volume works and the eject works. Here is what doesn’t work:
Any ideas on where to look next are appreciated. Also I am not seeing any faults on my ODB reader, I checked the fuse in the glovebox for the I-drive system (I think I got the right one), and I pulled out the screen and reseated the connections. Also there is no water in the trunk (and I don’t think there has been).
- Screen
- i-Drive knob and functions
- all steering wheel buttons outside of volume
- radio mode change
- radio am/fm change
- tuning or track change on the radio
- putting a cd in, doesn’t play the cd
- Bluetooth answering calls (but the phone connects to the car)

Wife's X5 had a screen backlight go out. If it was dark and you got up close to the screen and had a flashlight, you could make out the screen barely. New screen fixed it.
