That is correct. They have to place the order 5 days or something like that before the car gets to the VPC. Be sure you stay on them about that or it may slip through the cracks. About the same time I got my car someone else, may have been tachyon, had his car arrive without the kit.

Because of his experience, I stayed on my sales rep as my car arrived and made her call the VPC to confirm the order was received.
thx for the heads up

This is EXACTLY what I did
I asked my dealer about getting the aero kit. Im doing my deal at cost plus so the aero kit would atomatically be cost to me. Here's my issue. Im buying ED. My dealer said that ED cars come into New Jersey not into South Carolina, so ED cars are not going thru the VPC according to him. So Im not sure if the ED car then goes down to SC and gets it installed or its just not possible to get a VPC part installed on a ED car?

Is my dealer wrong? Anyone...anyone???

The VPC is in NJ.

You need a new dealer.

Do all new BMW's shipped from Europe come into New Jersey? Are you aware if ED cars are shipped into a different port?

I saw your pm too, but I guess I'll respond here in case someone else wants to know -

Both ED cars and US delivery cars come to the same place together.

I only knew of the VPC in NJ, but I assumed there was another VPC on the west coast since I know ED cars for the west coast are on completely different ships than the east coast.

Ok, after poking around on bimmerfest, I found that there's at least 3: NJ, SC and one in LA.
I also found this link so you can see what such a thing looks like:
http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forum...2&highlight=vpc
(BTW, it used to be called VPC Vehicle Prep Center, but now its known as VDC Vehicle Distribution Center)

So to clarify, both ED and US cars go to the VDC/VPC, but which VDC/VPC depends on where you and your dealer are.
(west coast cars go to LA location, etc)

Since you're in IL, I assume your car will arrive at the VDC/VPC in NJ. And I am certain they can do the M kit there.

I still don't understand why the M kit has to be installed here and not in Germany prior to shipping...anyone?
