Spray Super Contact Cleaner 3 inch away and with a paper towel buff to shine

Here's what you need. The lady lube for the lock, the gentleman lube for the key. Get them together and it brings a whole new meaning to "comfort access"

If the key is kept free of dirt I would think no dirt would get into the lock since it is sealed by a metal flap that covers the hole when the key is not inserted.

You will not keep the key free of dirt no matter how hard you try.

It will always have specks of dust etc on it, they will come off, stay in the lock and build up over time.

I bet the DVD drive on your PC closes with a flap over it, but how much crap does that pick up?

I guess your right. So I shouldn't put some lubricant on the key again? (serious question )
