Had my car in for the brake vacuum line fix today. Found no oil in brake booster, so was just the basic vacuum line replace. All the other vehicle checks were in the green. Woo-hoo.

Got a 2011 335 xDrive i as a loaner, and have to say I'm happy I have the e60. Just too small and a little harsher than the 5er. Didn't care much for the throttle tip-in with the basic Step Tranny. I found it hard to make a smooth takeoff.

They gave you a loaner for a 45 minute fix?

In a way I'm glad to hear you say that you prefer the E60. I started saving for an E46 330 ZHP, but decided on the E60 instead as I do a lot more driving on highways than twisty back roads, the interior looks richer, and I'm not getting any younger! E60 is comfortable and fast, just perfect!

I get one when I go in for a 15 minute oil change. It's not like they get to my car the minute I pull in.

+1 .. when I don't have the time or desire to sit in my dealer's very comfortable waiting area (free phones, free WiFi, coffee, water, TV, magazines and newspapers) I have access to a BMW loaner. IMHO it helps if your SA knows in advance so they can be prepared to have an "appropriate" vehicle available if one is required.

I just schedule my service appt. when the next loaner is availble. Nice to be able to drop off first thing in the morning before work and have the loaner for the day.

I've had 2 really nice loaners both '11 328xi's. I looked heavily at the 2011 328's for a couple of months before my current 2008 525xi came availble. Don't get me wrong the 328's sure are nice especially for loaners. But, I do miss my 5 series as soon as I leave the dealer and makes me really glad I went with my '08
