Yea looks like the 550 would cost me about 20k more and it would depreciate greatly while if i purchase a 545 it wouldnt depreciate much since im getting it at a wholesale cost. 545 + mods it is!

 

I think 550i comes with the same problems that 545i has. I think you doing right thing that you looking to buy used 545i as longest the car is CPO. I got 2005 545i with 26k miles, and I didn't have any major problems with it yet.

 

I have seen nothing that shows any major performance gains in the 550i over the 545i. The price difference between what this guy wants to buy, a used 545i, and what you are suggesting, a new 550i, is enormous.

 

Thanks, thats the info i was looking for, The price i can get a used 05 545 is about 6k under current market value. I am going to modify it because that is what i like to do to my cars. I dont like to drive a stock car. Some people may not like my style but i will post pics when its done. Right now im just looking for advice as in what to looks for and what options i would regret not getting later. I want to do it right the first time. Thanks everyone.
