I consider myself somewhat of an audiophile and my logic7 sound quality is absolutely superb. (Oct. 07 build) Sorry to hear some of you all are having problems. Based on my experience it should not be considered a system-wide issue. Can any others share there thoughts? Maybe a poll is in order.

You are going out of topic...

Here the point is: pre-LCI Logic 7 was ok, LCI Logic 7 sucks!
Not at all. He was suggesting that using an iPod as the audio source may be contributing to the perception that the post LCI L7 has quality issues, the iPod does in fact play uncompressed audio. It's the source and not the device which is key. Best way to test the L7 quality concerns is back to back listening with the same source on pre and post-LCI L7 equipped E60s.

Hi,

I am not a specialist in audiosystems, but compared to HiFi in my previous, in my new E60 current ProLogic7 is very satisfying to me.
Could your car suffer from a fault?

Best regards,

Best regards,
depends on if you got previously the Logic 7. Of course new logic 7 sounds better the the old standard hifi.

You know? I hope it's just my system workind bad

I took a CD from my Sales Agent and listened to L7 in a 2005 545 and my car. I also made my service advisor listen to the difference. He agreed that they sounded different but could not comment if one was better than the other.

I can however. The 2005 car (like my old car) was crisp and clear. I was able to raise the volume with no distortion. In my my car the clarity and separation was not there and it was easy to distort when raising the volume. I pray this is a SW issue. The 545 was so much more "brilliant".

Ya we really need to bring some CDs to the meet so I can hear for myself. I mean I think my L7 is great for OEM system but I've heard better... a lot better. Now I'm beginning to think is my L7 really as good as I think? hahah

Standard Stereo is crap. I had it in the 525 loner and it was just horrid... Flat... everything blended together do depth at all... what your describing sounds like standard stereo to me.

Hormazd brought his LCI to the SoCal meet last Saturday and we were able to listen to the same CD in Eric's (EBMCS03) pre-LCI E60 and Hormazd's LCI back to back with the same settings. Eric and I both agree with Hormazd that there was quite a difference between the two. The equalizer and other tone settings were flat-lined on both car's and the same L7 mode was selected. Then the same CD was played in both cars back to back and the difference in the sound quality was very noticeable. The LCI L7 just did not have the depth and the fidelity of the pre-LCI one. Even when the LCI's settings were "optimized" it barely started to approach the sound quality of the FLAT-LINED system on the pre-LCI.......if the pre-LCI's settings were also optimized then there was no contest anymore.

I think that in light of the fact that BMW now has a better "Individual" sound system it is quite possible that they may have "downgraded" the L7 so that there is a significant difference between the L7 and the Individual system, but I think if that is the case they should have lowered the L7's price and changed the name, not to mention make the Individual system available in the US as well.

First thanks Hormazd for bringing your LCI out so we can compare.

Secondly, Yes! I agree with what Rody said. He hit the nail on the head describing the Pre-LCI and LCI Logic 7 sound system. There is a definite difference between the two, the quality of the sound was not as good as the Pre-LCI system. As Rody said both cars setting was put back on default and there was no contest, Pre-LCI was better. Even with the equalizer optimized a bit on the LCI it came closer to the flat lined default setting of my Pre-LCI sound but once I optimized the equalizer on my car it basically blew the LCI L7 away.

No one else did but there was another Pre-LCI 550 with L7 parked next to Hormazd and I played my CD in that car with out messing with the settings just to hear and it sounded excellent. Just like in my car.

I had several loner cars E90s and E60s from taking in the 545 and MINI into service and I?ve listened to the stock sound system and it was flat and nasty sounding? To me what it sounded like was they used the stock speakers and added the L7 subs under the seat and called it ?Logic 7?
