To those who want to lock their car while running, I do it routinely. I keep my dog locked in the car with the A/C on.
To do it, I use the plastic valet key to start the car. Step out of the car and lock with the doors with the key fob.
This is also the only way I know to lock the dog in the car without him setting off the alarm. If I lock him in the car without the car running, the alarm will go off when he moves.
Does anyone know of a way I can lock him in the car without worrying about him setting off the alarm and without having the car running?
