Locked keys in trunk...a few questions
So, like an idiot, I've managed to lock my keys in the trunk.
The vehicle itself is also locked.
I've only had the car a few weeks (2008 535i) so I haven't had a chance to get a spare key made. I'm not currently a BMW assist subscriber although I do have AAA/Roadside assistance.
I have three questions:
1: Will an automotive locksmith be able to get into the vehicle?
2: Will the electric trunk release work if/when they manage to open the car? I'm guessing that having a locksmith open the car while it's locked will set the alarm off, which might disable that feature?
3: If the electronic trunk release doesn't work, is there an easy way to access the trunk?
I don't have a skibag and I don't think the car has fold-down rear seats.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I can answer one question that the trunk button will not work if you set the alarm off. I locked my keys in the trunk also luckily for me my sunroof was on tilt. I tried a stick to hit the unlock button but the car knows its locked and won't unlock the doors. I managed to get a coat hanger around the handle to open the door (2 tugs just as if you were inside) popped right open, but no buttons worked.I had a ski port tho so it saved my life.... Good luck bro.

Thanks for the info.
Does anyone know if there's a way to apply 12V power directly to the trunk unlock solenoid once I have access to the interior?
Or, is there any way to access the trunk from the cabin by removing the rear seats?

Well, AAA did get the car open with the interior door handles, though the central locking button was disabled.
HOWEVER, the electric trunk release worked!
So I now have my keys and my car back.
Thanks!
