What are you main dislikes with the interior?
Looks a bit cheap, odd rattle, some plastics could be better, cupholders look cheap whether they are in or out. Also not impressed with the shape of the dashboard.

DISLIKES:

1--Passenger side of the dashboard: looks like a Datsun from my childhood years in the late 70's.
2--Tramlining and cross-wind imbalance. Almost embarrasing in the presence of friends.
3--Wierd and unhelpful maintenance guys at my local dealer.
4--Poor front storage space
5--Rather large steering wheel. The E90 has a cozier and a more sporty steering.

LIKES:

1--Handling, despite number 5 above.
2--Distinctive, head turning and sexy styling.
3--I-drive; believe it or not. I really miss my idrive when I'm driving some other car (or should I say some other CRAP!!!).
4--Love almost everything else about my baby.

Before I made my decision to buy E60, I was test-driving and considering few others: MB W211, Volvo S60, Audi A6 and I personally fell in love with the E60 that after testing it on the road I would never come back to the thought of buying anything else.
So much to tell about "likes" since there would be a loooooong list here

But for "dislikes", there are very few, but they are quite annoying:
Here goes:
1) (as mentioned few times before trunk lid opens as it would like to test your reflexes... and trying to tell you: "got ya! Be faster next time"....
And again, it is quite unconvenient to close. Personally: C'mon BMW! Even current Vectra has a nice button + electric motor opening/closing the trunk lid!

2) The worst front hand and arm-rests I've ever seen :'(
Well, afterall that's not a big problem for me, but that's what my test-passenger remarked the most (at least compared to my current E39 and previous E38), I cannot believe BMW actually dropped such a perfect ergonomical design they previously had done in both E39 and E38.

3) and the last one:
Lack of any rubstrip protection on doors and bumpers (again, not a problem for me, but for all these folks parking around me, especially those of the "more beautiful gender..." Well, paint job is extremely expensive in Luxembourg, therefore if I'd be in such need - I would do it in Poland anyway (roughly: about 10 times cheaper there), but then again - I would rather prefer some nice-factory-designed gum around my car...
Anyone has heard of any good aftermarket stuff?

after 36k miles

Likes
1. The engine
2. Auto gearbox, drives close to a manual when you want it to
2. The brakes are fantastic
3. Dynamic drive makes this car handle so well
4. Heated steering wheel (has to be my favourite option)
5. I drive - the radio has to be the best I've ever used and hooking upto a phone is great
6. over 30k miles from front tyres, wow
7. Xenons

Dislikes
1. Ipod your bmw, as long as it's not a 5-series, how hard is this to sort I wonder
2. Poor bt telephone conectivity
3. Cheap climate control that took a year for them to fix
4. Drivers door window sticking even after 2 trips to garage.

Overall after two years by far the best car I've ever owned though

Dislikes:

Logic 7 is just not enough for me... I want better, louder, and more features (but fear the risk of aftermarket)
Sirius (They lost FoxNews channel to XM... and that was the only station I listened to on Sirius)
iDrive boot-up time is too long

I think the look of the E60 interior is dependant on general colour and trim type especially the dash. I used to have grey with maple (door handles in alloy) and I hated it. It looked cheap, sparse and not the sort of dash you'd see in a 39k car. In contrast my current interior looks superb but I'm still not convinced with the shape of the dash. Not got any rattles on mine yet but the drivers cupholder only opens every now and again.
