My Ride: 2008 Sapphire Black on Black M5 - loaded sans soft close doors
Let's see.....
Likes
Heated Seats (they get hot FAST)
Heated Steering Wheel (love this love this love this)
Power (still in break-in mode, but so sweet)
Active Steering
I-Drive (yes, I actually like this)
Comfort Seats (I know why they made them standard on the sport package for 07)
Handling (coming from a GS430 you can imagine the difference)
Dislikes
Boot time (30 seconds or so - nothing works until the computer boots - including radio)
Trunk (have comfort access, takes 3-4 tries before it opens - and then it can take your head off)
Heated Seats (honestly, they get too hot)
I-Drive (some things should not have been put in there - Audi does it better with their MMI)
Logic 7 - (can't get it to sound as good as it should - unbalanced and too boomy).
Sirius - (Terrible, Terrible sound. HD Radio would be my choice over this)

Love
- Handling
- Comfort Seats
- HUD
- HVAC
- Sound System
Dis-likes
- Dependence on quirky software
- Audio controls
- Limited interior space for change, cell phone, etc.
- A little low on power (another 50 hp would be great...maybe Dinan could help!)
- Lack of support for latest technologies e.g. MP3, DVD MP3's, Bluetooth (although available now)
- Style differentiation between 525i, 530i and 545/550i
Lease is up in Sept...maybe an M5 can fix the Dis-likes!

Like: drive, handling, engine to tranny match well, styling, and cool
Dislike: Fit and finish not well, no mp3 for me, co-work and boss thinks I make too much money (I don't), fear of higher than normal maintenance cost after warranty, dealer service are below average compared to Lexus. Last but not least, the creaking and squeaking . . .

My Ride: 2006 M5, Silver Grey, Silverstone Full Leather, Alumium trim, Active/Ventilated Comfort Seats, HUD, Comfort Access, Split Rear Seats, Rear Seat Heating, etc.
Have only had my M5 a short time, but so far:
Likes
Power, handling, steering, interior fit-n-finish. HUD, comfort access, and voice activation are the big crowd pleasers when I have passengers.
Dislikes
Trunk opening with Comfort Access takes a few tries, as someone else stated.
iDrive takes a bit of patience...certain selections/operations take a while to register.
No cradle for my Treo 650 (tho I hear this may be coming). This is mainly an issue because having bluetooth on (and connected) runs the phone's battery down, and it would be nice to have it charge while it's in the car... without a bulky cord/adaptor.
I wish seat heating, active seat, and seat ventillation settings (i.e., high/med/low) were stored in the keyfob (same for last SMG drive mode).
Sirius is neat, but sounds as bad as regular radio. Toggle between it and a CD and you notice a big difference. This isn't BMW's fault, but Sirius needs to address this before the initial free subscription runs out, or I'm not keeping it!

Dislikes - Software quirks. Tires, big time. Various rattles that shouldn't be present. Engines shouldn't "tick."
Likes - Best overall performance and driveability in V8 luxury sedan for the price, period.
Caveat: It likely gets better if you buy a 2007.

-Bluetooth
-V8 power
-My color combo
-iDrive
-Flat cornering with Dynamic Drive/Active Roll Stabilization
-LED Puddle lights under the side mirrors
-Mean looking Angel Eyes and LED eyebrows
-Active Steering when parking
-BMW free maintenence

Dislikes:
-SMG in traffic
-Stock exhaust too quiet

-Active Steering when hard cornering
-V8 gas milage
-Run Flats
-iDrive is slow w/ NAV
-Takes a while to get used to Active Steering, Active Roll Stabilization, SMG, and iDrive

-Still doesn't drive as well as a sports car (so I can't bring myself to sell the Boxster)
