So I bring my car in for service the other day and when I get it back I press the lock button on the remote and hear no sound and dont see the lights flash as they normally do. I bring it back and they say the service has nothing to do with this and that it is a separate issue. Has anyone had this issue arise before?


PS: it beeps and the lights flash when I unlock the car.


Any assitance would be greatly appreciated!!!!

You may be able to just reset this feature in the idrive menu. I'd try that first.

 

How can I go about doing that?

 

Use the setings menu in i-drive. If that doesn't work, you may have a battery issue. Mine did that when it was at the end of its useful life. GL

 

Ok thanks for the tip! The battery was just replaced so I dont think that may be the issue. I'll play around with the I Drive in a few..

 

make sure all doors including trunk are properly closed and try again. If one of the doors is not closed, thats exactly how car reacts.

 

There are settings under 'Vehicle Settings" that should allow you to customize door locking, lights flashing, alarm beep sounding, etc.
Go through the menus systematically - all will become clear ;-)

 

ps.. be careful with the climate control through iDrive... controls aren't exactly intuitive... it'd be a pain to have it blow hot air during the summer!
