At 130 mph, what you can't see or didn't expect will kill you.

I was going 80 one night on a road that I new with NO ONE else on the road.........except a cop.

Can you believe that? I am trying to speed responsibly (Excuse my while I put on my flamesuit) and then one car on the road is a cop.
Oh well, lesson learned
Hmmmm. "Speed responsibly". Would that be considered an oxymoron?
Just kidding around Krozi....

I totally agree. I was just thinking the same thing actually. Just a little gentle ribbing...no offense intended.

On a serious note, though; 80 it's really not speeding when done with an E60. 80 in a Smartcar may be pushing, but 80 in an E60 is merely cruising.

And that's what kills me every day. Not being able to drive the car to it's full potential

That's true. They seem to have a little groove at 80, and it's hard to drive them slower because they are capable of so much more. So I compromise...

FYI, this was from a Russian guy on m5board.com years ago. It was in Moscow. He claims the cars look closer than they actually were. I certainly wouldn't drive like that in traffic like that.

I admit I have driven at speeds I shouldn't have on highways. ALWAYS with zero traffic and ALWAYS with perfect visibility and no chance for cars entering the highway.

Mosty I drive at high speeds on track. The 550i handles 135 mph with ease lap after lap at VIR. There's just not enough room to go much faster. Because of the track sessions, I also have learned how to handle the car at high speeds, even with DSC off. The braking as well. The 550i stops surprisingly quick from 120+ mph but you still cover a lot of distance and have to keep that in mind.
