I purchased the 545 back in June 2004 and I wish I never purchased/lease the car. I have had to bring the car at least 6 times for a total of ( i belive 24 days)... Is there anyone else having these issues. I will writing a letter to BMW of NA but I wondering if you guys or gals have any recommendations

I greatly appreciate your help.

The types of issues range from the I DRIVE screen flashing BMW and then displaying nothing, to the steering wheel locking up twice while coming to a stop

You think you have problems, your car has been in the shop for 24 days, I only got to drive mine for 24 days before the engine became caput. Now I am making lease payments on a 545I and driving a 320 with the dealers lettering all over the back window stating "Courtesy of", some f'en courtesy this is.

To add insult to injury on the front windsheild there is a number 40 circled, trust me I really think that they have (or need) 40 courtesy cars.

Listen up BMW, you took my 545I away from me and now I have become a babbling idiot because I got a taste of this car for only 24 days. Give me a new car!!!!!! You can keep my engineless 545 and when you finally find an engine to
to put back in it, USE IT AS A COURTESY CAR.

That really does suck! How long will the engine replacement be?

If they are not giving you a new car, I would think they would atleast postpone your lease payments until they give you your car back. At least they could have given you a 5 series instead of the lowest end 3 series. I feel for you man.

Latest word is that BMW now has two engines on the way here, One which they found in USA and a second from Germany. They have now offered to pick up two monthly lease payments. I have forwarded the file to BMW AG in the hopes that they will realize that a new car might be the right thing for them to do.

I spoke to my dealer yesterday and asked them how much to get me out of my current 545 and into a new one. Looks like around 5k - 7K . This would work out to about $ 280.00 / day for the 25 days that I got to drive my car.

Am still awaiting a fairy godmother to come to my rescue.
