Leaving the car parked for 3.5 weeks

If there are no indications your battery is in poor health you should be OK.

You can test to be sure your car is "going to sleep" before you travel. The amber indicator near the shift lever and the led indicators on the window switches should be OFF about 20-30 minutes after parking and locking your car. If they don't and something is keeping the car awake get it checked out before you leave.

As far as removing the CD Changer - that's still puzzling me. Maybe some cars aren't going completely to sleep and the CD changer cycling is a hint of that. But removing the cartridge won't prevent that. I say leave it alone. If your climate is extremely cold and the airport garage is exposed to very low temperatures, wind, and snow I recommend you part in such a way that SHOULD the battery go dead it will be easy to access both the under-hood charging point and the battery in the trunk - just to play it safe. Extreme temperatures - heat or cold take a toll on batteries.

Use a battery tender weeks before the trip to make sure the battery is "pumped" up.
