Must be common cause I noticed 1 dead one too when I first picked my car up but until you mentioned it I completely forgot about it (not that bothersome). I'll have to check if its still there on the drive home tonight.

I have a dead pixel on the assistance screen side too but you only can see it if you turn the monitor off. So it doesn't really bother me. Plus like TexaZ3 said it may cause more problems if you try to change the monitor out.

I had the same problem and got it replaced. This is how my dealer took care of it.
1. took delivery of my car noticed it, went to service dept. and had them order new nav screen.
2. drove around happily until I got a call that the parts were in, sechduled an appointment and dropped off the car.
3. Took about 2.5 days and was covered fully under the normal BMW warranty.
--Now, they did need to dis-assemble the whole dash board area to replace the screen. make sure your technician takes extra care when removing these things. They scratched the cloth area of the window sills that connect to the overall headliner. Other than that, it is worth it becauuse I pay attention to detail and I get unhappy when I see a single dead pixel on my 60' HDTV. ...just my 2cents

I thought you had to have multiple dead pixels before the LCD would be replaced under warranty?

OK, i've had one dead for a long time. It's acctually orange so when using the green nav screen or almost any other screen that sucker really stands out. I always thought more dead pixels were required for replacement. I'll note that for my next visit.

i think that if you have one dead pixel that it will "infect" pixels around it and will cause more dead pixels with time...so my suggestion to anybody who has such a problem is to change theres when under warranty period...
