Glad to hear I'm not the only one standing in a public parking lot, car siren screaming, pretending that I'm driving the YUGO next to the BMW!
As annoying as that is, I am still trying to master opening the trunk with Comfort Access without knocking myself out as the lid hurtles upward unexpectedly. I can not seem to figure out where and for how long I need to push what on the trunk release under the lip of the trunk by the license plate. The manual is no help at all. Anyone sorted this out using Comfort Access?

Ah, so everybody else finds the trunk remote to be slack eh? I press my button 3 times and it seems to open on the third press. Holding it does trigger the alarm. It must be a timer thing in the key rather than the latch.

Sheesh,

just an FYI, you can open the trunk without the fob or unlocking the car first, just have your key with you and press the button on the trunk itself twice. This is probably/more like obviously a comfort access thing.

Hahha just make sure you dont have your cup of coffee on top of the trunk lid... else you'll launch it clear over the front of the hood.

AND No I did not do that...

HaHa is right. I would be capable of doing that right after washing my car. I can do some of the silliest things.

I got to the point that I just started using the truck release inside the car which was a pain. But now, after having the car for 8 months, I can use the key most of the time and not worry too much about the alarm going off. This just takes a while getting used to the timing. By the way, the coffee cup thing didn't work for me. Too large a cup I guess.

LOL Then I would hate to see where that lands... on the rear windshield and then runs right back into the trunk.

I like launching them over the hood more. Makes for a better laugh.

P.S. It might have been only half full.

The trunk button on the key works great for me. Press button, count to 2 and release. The trunk doesn't open until you release the button. Perhaps that's what's confusing people--holding the button and waiting for the trunk to open will cause the panic feature to be enabled and the alarm will go off.

That won't work unless you have CA, which was introduced as an option in MY06.
