I'm new to the forum n BMW... i just got a 05 545i sport and i'm having problem with the key that when i press the lock/unlock sometime it work and sometime it doesn't work. I thought i could change the battery but found out it recharge from the ignition but i kept it in the ignition to charge but still have the same problem..is it the car or the key or i need a new key?

Whats the nature of the problem?, will the key work at distance? or only when right up against the car?, There`s a common problem with these cars where the diversity antenna stops working properly causing it to stop picking up the radio waves from the key.
If this is the case then the diversity antenna needs replacing, it`s located behind the third brake light top of the rear window.

it was working from far distance n close but now it now working at all..so it not the key it most likely the diversity antenna...thx for the help
